13th April - This was bound to be a close game and it certainly was. The first half was extremely tight despite the fact that rangers spent to much time in our half. A goal just before half time saw Rangers leading 1.0 at half time. The second half meant that we had to work hard and despite a couple of chances it was not to be . Paxton's mid field and defenders worked hard all game, and Dom made several really good saves. Unfortunately Rangers set corners where to be our down fall and again just before the end of the game they managed to get it in the back of our net to finish 2.0 up. Everyone played exceptionally well - probably the best of the season - A result to be proud of......... . WELL PLAYED EVERYONE -- MOM Greg
9th March. There was lots of action and goals . Coton took an early lead and where 2 - 0 up before we got into the game taking a 3-2 lead at half time - Our goals came from a Penalty from Jake in the 9th minute. Ash headed home a great cross from one of his team mates in the 23rd Min. Dom made the save of his life, and Jake's second beat the goalie in the 25th min.
The second half saw lots more goals. Greg was first to capitalize for us when Greg headed home followed swiftly with Ryan having a a great scramble in the goal mouth. Then something happened - did we loose focus ? Coton battled relentlessly and came back from 5- 2 down to 5 -5 helped by an own goal from Greg. Then with about 8 minutes from the end they took the lead, dug in deep and despite our best efforts we where unable to pull it back.
2nd March saw us at home to St Ives who played really well , unfortunately they beat us 5-1. Their result did not reflect how well we played but unfortunately St Ives piled the pressure on in the second half and a couple of quick goals left us realing
24th Feb.. Saw us beat Cambourne 3-2 and by did they throw their toys out of the pram, storm off and virtually refuse to shake hands after the game. What a bad set of poor sports they are!. Still it was their first defeat of the season and what a pleasure to do it when you see what bad losers they are!! Hence there no match report on their web site.
The first half was extremely tight and saw us 2 - 0 down at half time. Jack Noades had hit the bar from the edge of the box but that's the nearest we had been to scoring. About 15 minutes into the second half saw us pull one back after a penalty was converted by Jake Neilson. Ryan scored the equalizer and with just two minutes left Jake N p scored again to grab the win. Jake McT played exceptionally well but MOM was Kieren
10th Feb.. - Saw us win at home 5 - 0 against Little Downham. During the first half we played exceptionally well, but as for the second, everyone wanted to score and we lost it in mid field. We come away with 3 points which are very welcome and keep us in contention for the end of season.
3rd Feb.. - With their confidence boosted by last weeks win under Andy and Gary's management spirits were high. We had no reserves. , but did it matter? We started strong and soon had our first shot at goal but Hemmingford came back twice as quick and snatched a surprise goal taking the lead, but not for long though as the rout began , Some fantastic play down the left, great on two's between, Jake McT, Bryce and Ryan soon had the ball up front, Elliot was soon in the fray with some strong defending, Josh T with some great crosses with Ash running on, Ollie remembered not to go on walk about and played great in mid field. Peter ran like no one has seen him do before, Jack chased some great balls and made some really play for his colleagues to score. Dom had a storming game stopping everything that came his way. Every one played brill! and the onslaught was relentless. Goals game from
Firstly Bryce after 3 min's, our 2nd - a cross from Jake was headed in by Ryan, 3rd - Josh used his head, 4th - Ash beat 2 players and drove it home. Number 5 - Josh again when he gave it back to the goalie with interest. Ollie made it 6 after beating their player , looking up and shooting. Goal number 7 again saw Ollie with a pass from ball skills Peter to Ollie and wow what a goal. Number 8 was Ash again. . Who would get their hat trick first? Ollie struck the post. Number 9 saw Ollie first to score a hat trick, Ash not to be out done made it double figures with goal number 10 made only by Elliot feeding a long ball to Ash which allowed him to and achieved his hat trick. Don't forget all the great play that everyone else was doing - stopping anything that came in 'his' goal area, great defending, feeding balls forward, super tackles dribbling and great passing. Well the rout was on with just a couple more goals to come Ryan's happened so quick I missed it and Ollie made it 12 .. phew what and great game. Hemingford did their best but we where on fire and the on slaught was relentless. WELL DONE TEAM
27th Jan Great "Racing" Paxton 5 - Real Ramsey 1
6th Jan 2008. Our first home game of 2008 saw an extremely tight game with us 2-1 down at half time. The muddy pitch meant that the ball did not run and short passes did not reach their intended recipients. The second half saw a penalty save by Chesterton's keeper in the opening minutes of the second half, with our hopes fading we fought back. In the second half we played some great football to win 3-2. Goal scores, Ash put 2 in Chesterton's net and Ryan 1. MOM runners up where Greg, Kieren with some great football., MOM was Ash. 30th Away win 2-3 This was a closely fought game and a welcome break from the Christmas pudding. Half time saw us trailing 2-1 despite having gone 1-0 up in the early part of the game thanks to Jack Noades goal. The second half saw Ollie's volley lift the net off the ground and Michael's goal mouth scramble in the last 10 minutes giving us the lead kept us all on tender hooks for the last few minutes of play. Kieren and Greg's performance in goal was great- Thanks guys. MOM Kieren.
16th December Home win 5-1 Godmanchester proved a formidable team in the first half and we struggled to keep a clean sheet. The second half was a different issue with Great paxton Dominating the play only our complacent in the last seconds allowed Godmanchester to score. Goals by . Elliot was MOM for some outstanding all round play .
9th December saw us at home. It was a great game and we had a score to settle!. Before the game some one was substituted as he did not want to play in defence so he had to wait until well into the second half when a vacancy arose in midfield. Great Paxton as a team played some fantastic football and whilst I am prejudiced we where undoubtedly the better side. Michael in the first half and Ash in the second scored a couple of great goals. Greg MOM, Elliott, Kieren and Jake McT played really soundly in defence and did some great defensive tackles. Ollie Jake and Ryan played good positional play in midfield. Josh and Bryce played well as wingers - Josh remember to wear the thermals the weather will only get colder -! Michael in the fist half and Ash in the second played well up front chasing all the balls and last but not least Dom did well in goal after his rest. Pete did some great skills for the short time he was on!!!
2nd December. Saw us reschedule the game away at Little paxton as it had rained in great paxton as the patch was un playable unfortunately I only sw the first 20 min's and despite the fact we played well - we lost 0 -3...
25th November 2007 The journey to Pymoor was a pretty uneventful trip, Jill only ran over a number plate this time just a good job it was not on the back of a motor cyclist! Thanks Chauffeur. Well what a result 5 - 3 away win. Our first goal came from Ash and it was just as those you see on Match of the day. The ball came out to him and he struck it perfectly on the volley from about 20 yards out - it was in the back of the net before the goalie realized. Little Downham fought back and equalized. Then came a series of goals at both ends. Jake's corner found Jack Noades who made short work of putting it in the back of the net. Jack's second caught some of the spectators napping it happened so quickly when the ball slid from the keepers hand onto his boot . Our forth came after a long run from Kieren who made a lovely cross to Ryan who swiftly put it away. Lots of action saw some great defensive play from all the defenders - Ash. Kieren, Elliot , Jake McT. Our fifth came after some great play between Josh and Bryce before the ball was laid over to Jack who placed it beautifully in the top right hand corner of the net for his hat-trick. Well done everyone. MOM Ash Howard!!
18th November 2007 saw us win 8 - 3 at home against Hemingford. It could have been more had their goalie not played so well. The first half saw some great all round play with first class moves and great team work . The second half saw good forward and mid field play with a really lack luster performance from the defence who chose to play where they wanted and allowed us to concede two own goals and a third form Hemmingford. Goals came from Ollie (2) Jack, Michael, Ash (2) Jake Neilson (2) Parents MOM was Jake N. Bryce and Kieren also scored but at the wrong end!! Everyone signed a get well soon card for Josh FC - so get well soon - were all thinking of you.
11th November 2007 Lost 0-1 A strong wind made it difficult for both teams and during the first half we failed to capitalize with the wind in our favour. We must remember to play in our positions and play wide!. The second half was really exciting with some really good play. Unfortunately a difficult bounce about 15 minutes into the second half caught Greg off guard and despite our best efforts we failed to equalize. Overall we had dominated the play and where really unlucky to come away without at least a draw. Ryan, Ash and Ollie played some good football. Peter played very strongly in defence with Jake N . Jake McTaggart played probably his best game all season. Elliot MOM played consistent well all game and made some great defensive tackles. Jack played will up front chasing. Josh and Bryce did some great running - even better when it was on the wing.
4th November 2007. Alan Poulain from Hunts FA had come to watch the team and afterwards presented the guys with their fair play awards and the U13's a cheque for £200. Well done everyone great result. This was a great day fantastic weather and a very lively game, with some great flurries in the play made it a very entertaining match to watch. The first goal came just 12 minutes in with a long ball form Josh T and Ryan following in to put it in the back of the net. Burwell equalized before half time and we finished equal at half time. The second half saw us score three quick goals the first saw Ash with along run beat several players to slot it home. Ash's send came from a great cross by Ollie, a shot which rebounded out to Ash who drove it home for his second . The forth goal came from Ryan but not before Kieren had made a storing short and their goalie pulled off a fantastic save and some great goal keeping from Dominic. Alan Poulain MOM was Kieren but there where many other worthy players who deserved it today not least Ash and Ryan who both played well all game. Well done every one... 21st October 2007. Away to Chesterton Villa saw a fairly physical game which we won with 3-2. Two great headers from Greg saw him nominated MOM. The other goal was from Michael who dribbled past the goalie to slot it home. Great play from Ash Howard saw him just miss out on the MOM for the a second week. Great control, composure and discipline on the field saw everyone hold their cool - despite some heavy challenges both on off the ball. Well done lads.
The forth game of the season was another home game - this time against Aztecs. A beautiful morning with no wind and soon we were in our stride , dominating the game from the start. A quick goal from Ollie after just a few minutes unsettled the opposition. The majority of the play was down the left hand side with Callum feeding balls down the wing to Ryan and on to Ash who made several great runs at goal. Peter made plenty of play in midfield feeding balls to Michael until he retired injured. Paxton continued to dominate the game and with Jack N slotting a second home just before half time left us in a commanding position. The second half was a little lack luster at the start and something we should take from this is that we can not afford to take anything for granted - we must keep the pressure on as a break by the opposition could easily have put them back in the game. Some loose passing gave Aztecs a couple of breaks for about 15 minutes in the second half but we regained our composure to earn 3 well deserved points - MOM Callum for an outstanding performance
Our third game of the season saw us at home in the first round of the Hunts cup against Godmanchester. Could we repeat our result of the first game of the s season? This was probably one of the most entertaining games I have watch for a long time. Both teams played some really good football. The end of the match saw us 1-1. At the end the two ten minute extra time sessions neither team was in the lead so the result was to be decided on penalties. Unfortunately the end result saw Godmanchester win 5 -4 overall . Neither team deserved to loose. Well done every one some great football all round keep it up.
Our second game of the season saw us play fantastic football for the first 20 minutes against Cambourne. It was a close first half and we had everything to play for despite being 3 - 0 down at half time. The second half saw us pull one back with Bryce Taylor beating the a defender and then slotting it past their goalie. Unfortunately things then got considerably worse with us finishing up with a crushing defeat with us loosing 12 -1. MOM Jake Neilson
Our first game of the season saw us away at Hinchinbrooke School against Godmanchester Rovers C where we won 4 - 0 . Goals from Michael Smith and Oliver Missen. The whole team played exceptionally well with some good on-twos and accurate passing. Changes to the structure of the team see Jake Neilson as Captain for the year with an individual man of the match trophy been awarded at each game. Ollie was presented with it for his overall team performance .
